White House FEMA Think Tank

One portion of FEMA’s “Whole of Community” response initiative included the Field Innovation Team (FIT), tasked with strengthening overall response by amplifying the connection between the formal and informal sectors. This effort was so successful as to be recognized in the Sandy After Action Report as well as at a hosted Think Tank event at the White House. During the “Data Jam/Think Tank,” the participants then broke into subgroups to brainstorm innovative ideas for addressing those challenges, vote on the best ideas, and commit to implementing them.
