Borchard Foundation
Digital Estate Planning
April 2017 – October 2017
To carry out our mission, the Albert and Elaine Borchard Foundation makes grants to non-profit organizations located primarily, but not exclusively, in California. We also operate and support our own research and education programs through our three Centers: Center on International Education, Center on Law and Aging, Center on Literary Arts.
Worked with attorney Megan Yip to produce a guide for boomers on how to do estate planning for digital assets. Includes password managers, guidance in accessing a deceased person’s accounts, and keeping a tidy file system.
Role
Facilitated workshops for codesign of the guide, wrote articles, and did product management for how the guide should land with users. Guide has now been circulated to hundreds of users, and is supported by additional attorneys beyond Megan Yip.
