An accelerator for humanitarian projects, taking technical teams through 6 months of mentorship into an aware and responsible role in the response community.

Role

 

Founded, directed, and handed off an organization dedicated to providing useful technical interventions to long-standing issues in disaster and humanitarian response. Organized and facilitated 1 to 5 hackathons internationally every month for 3 of those years, worked with response agencies to define their needs, and provided mentorship and project management to teams working to address those needs via an accelerator. Supported a total of 40 individuals across 25 teams through 6 months of accelerator mentorship. Through this deep knowledge of digital response, suggested capacities for use during Sandy.
